3/2009 – Chuck Packard and Alex Moen Present "The Art of Valuation" at the UCI Paul Merage School of Business NEWPORT BEACH (March 3, 2009) – Chuck Packard and Alex Moen of CB Capital Partners were selected to present " The Art of Valuation" to students of UC Irvine's Merage School, the Samueli School and the School of Medicine. The presentation was part of The Les Kilpatrick Students to Start-ups Entrepreneurial Skills Training Workshop Series running from March through May of 2009. Some of the topics covered include the following: Public Company Comparable Analysis, M&A Precedent Analysis, DCF Analysis, Determining a Valuation Range, and Leveraging Operations to Enhance Valuation. Attendance to the event exceeded capacity and was standing room only. Chuck Packard, Partner, CB Capital Partners Mr. Packard developed various Due Diligence Analyses for multiple businesses to determine the proper valuation prior to acquisition; was instrumental in improving the daily operations to increase the valuation for a liquidity event; developed and implemented a disciplined financial approach of Business-Specific Performance Metrics for all operating businesses to maximize annual cash flow and disposition valuation; developed team members to increase management team strength for better operating results; and negotiated Business Joint- Ventures with partners in the Western Hemisphere, Europe and the Middle East. Mr. Packard holds a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Toledo. Alex Moen, Vice President, CB Capital Partners Prior to CB Capital Partners, Mr. Moen worked at Silicon Valley Bank from 2000 to 2005 working particularly with loan workouts, acquisition finance and venture debt. In his professional career at Silicon Valley Bank, Mr. Moen provided venture debt to emerging technology companies alongside top-tier venture firms, co-managed a $70 million loan portfolio of media acquisition loans (average loan size was $3-5MM) and worked with some of the Bank's problem loans. Prior to joining Silicon Valley Bank, Mr. Moen began his career at the Boston office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he was a member of the consulting team that worked on various large projects for Fortune 500 companies throughout the country. Mr. Moen is a summa cum laude graduate of Babson College with a degree in Accounting.
